Artichoke
Artichoke or Globe Artichoke is a perennial plant, also known as Cynara cardunculus. [1] Artichoke is originated from southern Europe, [1] blooms from the month of August to September and the seeds become ripen from September to October. [2] Artichoke usually grows in light sandy medium and can grow in the heavy clay and nutritionally deprived soil. [2]
The plant of Artichoke can grow up to 1.5-2 m in height having arching, prickly, and silvery glaucous green leaves. The flowers produce edible bud consisting of numerous triangular scales, which are purple in color. [2]
